Doot Beach Heavily Damaged in January 2009

For several weeks this January 2009, there were continuous heavy rains, strong waves and flooding in the areas of Northern Mindanao including our town Gigaquit.

In particular, Doot beach was heavily damaged as can be seen in the photos taken by the Municipal Tourism staff when they surveyed the area.

Other areas were also inundated but environmental damages were not significant. However, some crops were affected. To see some pictures of the other flooded areas please click here.
